Inter Miami are "extremely confident" of tying Lionel Messi to a new contract despite strong interest from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ahli. There has been speculation over Messi's future in MLS as the World Cup-winning Argentina captain is yet to put pen to paper on a fresh Inter Miami contract. Messi's current deal, which he signed while joining the club in 2023, is valid until the end of the current calendar year, but reports that Inter Miami are 'extremely confident' they are going to retain him.

reported on Monday that AFC Champions League winners and Saudi giants Al-Ahli are keen on bringing the 38-year-old star to the Middle East and are making serious efforts to ensure the La Albiceleste icon signs for them. No financial details of the approach have been revealed, but Saudi Arabia is reportedly doing “everything it can to tip the scales”.
