How to Start The Crimson Kimono Mythic Tale in Ghost of Yotei
To start this quest, you might hear a rumor from a random NPC who will tell you about the Crimson Kimono. However, in the case this doesn’t happen, you can already go to the second step, which is to ride your horse and meet Ugetsu the Storyteller, located slightly northeast of Sakura Woods inside the Teshio Region. He will tell you the Tale of the mother and daughter and how the Crimson Kimono came to be.
After your conversation, interact with the snow sculpture to the right, and some red yuki mushi will appear that you will have to follow. They will lead you to the Abandoned Campsite, where you can find a scroll. Read the scroll to find the next location you need to visit, which is to the north of Sentinel Forest.
This is quite alarge search zone, and you will need to locate the orange Mother-Daughter Tree. Not to worry, as this is quite easy, since there is only one orange tree that you can easily spot from a distance. Approach the tree to find the second snow sculpture. Once again, some red yuki mushi will appear and lead you up the hill.
Be careful, as you will be ambushed here by a bunch of Nine-Tails members, and after dealing with them, you can continue forward.
At the end of the path, you will find an abandoned shack, and inside is the second scroll. Read it to find out the next location, which is east of Sarobetsu Lake.
Once again, you will have to find the Orange Mother Daughter Tree, which shouldn’t be a problem since it is quite easy to spot. Interact with the snow sculpture here and follow the red yuki mushi as they lead you through a crawl space. Keep following them on the linear path, and you will come across an Old Home where you will find the last scroll on the above floor.
Read the scroll to find that there is another snow sculpture just outside the house. Interact with it to restore it, and the red yuki mushi will appear for the last time. Follow them to the mother’s grave, and to the right of the graves are rocks that you can interact with to find the Crimson Kimono. This armor offers the following effects at max level:
- Chain Assassinations can be performed with Kunai (max 2 Kunai thrown).
- Enemy detection is reduced by a massive amount.
- Kusarigama Assassinations can be unleashed from further away. The distance is increased by a minor amount.
